Design Stories
Design Stories is a series of workshops for First year students, to encourage spoken and written discourse on design,
led by Freddie Yauner, a graduate from last year.
Design Stories will emphasise the excitement and possibilities of engaging in a critical discourse on product design, and how doing so will help you find your place in the vast space of design practice. We will create a range of outputs in different media, to be published in a format to be designed by students in the last workshop, creating a publication for the Interim Show.
“The qualities essential to journalism thus extend far beyond an ability to write. They are those of curiosity, an uninhibited mind, native cunning and an eagerness to communicate...”
…are all inherent qualities of designers.Workshops

Design Stories aims to help students find areas for design writing, which will make the process of writing a beneficial one rather than a last minute nightmare!
Treating design writing as an extensive research into studio based practice, working through the issues that students are interested in, not the issues they ‘think’ are appropriate for written work.
